For over 25 years, Rainer Eisch has been making use of the possibilities offered by 3D computer programmes as they are used in science, research and the film industry. Unlike in these fields, the artist does not use the technology to digitally simulate reality. On the contrary, he endeavours to deliberately obscure the visible. This raises questions about the possibilities and limits of digital media.
A recurring element in the artist’s work is the endless loop. This book brings together a selection of works from the late nineties to the present day, subjectively selected and compiled by the artist. Like a thought that jumps back and forth and yet always circles around the same thing.
In addition to the documented works, there is a work in the centre and at the end of the book, which can be put together with imagination or with the help of several books.
Edition of 14 copies
